WebJul 31, 2008 · TJS69. Your 327 has a 4 inch bore, so yes, you could make it a 355 or a 383. (also a 302, for that matter). A 1965 327 has a small journal crank, that is a factory "forged" piece. Your engine builder is making a 355 or a 383 by changing the crankshaft to a longer stroke, and replacing the pistons to match.
