WebCamus is often associated with his contemporary Jean-Paul Sartre, and is best known for his novels The Stranger and The Plague, and his essay The Myth of Sisyphus. He consistently held leftist political views, supported human rights, and vigorously opposed war and capital punishment. He was killed in a car accident at the age of 46.
